It was the last day of our 8 days marvelous trip where we have nearly half the day for touring around Chengdu yup again
This time we head straight to the city centre which we missed the other time. As recommended by Xiao Rong, our local tour guide, we headed downtown. Gosh, we were impressed by the fashion there. There were just too many shopping centres (or i would call it the wholesale centres ) where female fashion took up majority of it. Can anyone picture a whole shopping centre with floors of shops just on female fashion wear. It was a thrill for Xh and poor us, And not to mention, walking into similar buildings with tons of female fashionwear!#! Too horrifying for we guys
The next half of the day was spent back to our deluxe tour group where we went to Wen Shu Miao, and some other attractions of Chengdu. In one particular instance, we bumped back the group of Singaporean friends we got to know few days back. How coincidental! Alas, we finally got a decent group shot at the Peace Pagoda (Ping An Ta) before we really bade them our farewell and head to Mianyang Airport for our flight back Shanghai

7th Day of Our of our Fairytale Wonderland Trip : Eimei Shan!!
|
|
Eimei Shan! Yes yet another scenic place of China which is being classified under the World Heritage list!
This was a very tiring trip as we had to walk on foot for hours from midway of Eimei Shan downslope back. Thanks goodness we took the cable car up to the midway and started our tour from there downhill. Along the way, we were extremely impressed with the old aged people who were climbing up and down the hill for hours just to offer their prayer at the temple. Guess city life has spoilt all of us
A pity we werent able to hit Jing Ding of Eimei Shan (located at the peak 3077m). The tour guide also discouraged us as we have to desert the group if we were to go ahead. Anyway, it was advised that one day was not enough and only if we had travelled for 2 days, then Jin Ding is the best place to stay overnight with! Heard that u will be waken up in a floor of clouds, how heavenly it would be!
Coincidentally that particular week we went fell in Buddhist calender where a 'Kai Fo Guang' ceremony was held. Now only do I know that there are various levels and only certain respected temples in China can carry out 'Kai Fo Guang' ceremony. If i did not remember wrongly, normal temples carry out is not Kai Fo Guang, but just kai guang. i think..
We were told that this ceremony is scheduled according to predictions by top monks and thus the period was not fixed. More importantly it is being carried out only 4 years once! Not to mention, at a sacred place -Eimei. Got a jade Mi Le Fo which I went through this ceremony!
Not to mention, the whole group of us ate vegetarian also for the day to respect and honour this highly sacred event.

6th Day of our Fairytale Wonderland Trip @ Le Shan Buddha
|
|
We spent the whole day at Leshan Buddha. It was yet another world heritage place !! Woohoo. Cant imagine by the end of 6 days we have already been to so many world heritage places in just a short trip! Super impressed and made our trip even worth the money
History has it that three miracles actually occur right here at the Buddha statue. And all these coincidentally tallied with world events. It has been recorded in history that the Buddha eyes actually 'closed' (most prob due to erosion) and most spiritual of all, an unexpected halo occurred above the Buddha head just 2 years ago. Everyone went on their knee upon that!
The Buddha statue is ,if i did not remembered wrongly, the biggest Buddha statue in China, and most probably in the world too. It is definitely one spectacular man-make religious artifact that ever exist in humankind Now it is constantly under protection especially after being given the World Heritage title!

We were praying hard that the weather today would be fine for us to visit Huang Long. According to Xiao Rong, not all year-round is Huang Long open for tourists . It depends largely on the weather factor. But then, thanks goodness, the good weather forecast gave us the go-ahead !
My colleague Joan once showed me the pictures she had taken at Huanglong few years back. I was already mesmerized by the rare geology from the photos that one cant imagine the kind of awesome shock we would have when we were at the spot itself!
Huang Long is also, again, classified under the World Heritage List. And it is already the 2nd World Heritage Place we have been too since we started on this tour ! Wooohoo!

3rd Day of Our Fairytale Wonderland Trip ◎Jiu Zai Gou 九栽
|
|
Finally, the day has come. We are finally going to explore the famous fairytale wonderland Jiu Zai Gou scenic spot! For your info, this marvelous place is classified under World Heritage List (世界自然遗产) . And also not to mention, China's largest protected natural reserve.
Due to enviromental considerations, all tours have to take the commercialized tour buses catered by JZG Tourism Board. Thus, thorughout the day, we travelled independently from the tour group and gosh, it was really exciting as we planned ahead our path to take ! 0)
We were just too amazed by the views that were presented right in front of our eyes. Wooow! Gosh, we said to ourselves, why on Earth do such beautiful places ever exist! And our cameras just keep snapping throughout!
It was an extremely tiring day as we have only a day to explore the whole of Jiu Zai Gou. There are sooo many must-visit spots in Jiu Zai Gou, that in the end, we were the last one of the tour group to leave the area. Well, in the end we took a cab back to our hotel, and yup, the cab fare fee was soo cheap!
Caution : This page has ALOT of photos to load but itz worth it!

We begun our journey to Jiu Zai Gou! It was a long tiring one-day bus ride over the horrendous mountains.
Itenary for the day was (according to schedule)
赴九栽沟,经江油,平武沿途光看涪江风光,宿沟口
Basically we were in the bus practically for the whole day, slipping in and our of our dozzy naps. And along this journey, we got to know this very adorable kid Xinyi, who have been keeping us accompany with her comical acts and giving us a reminiscence of our old childhood days.
It was very understanding of our tour guide that she re-arranged the 藏羌风情晚会 (Tibetan Dance & Cultural Show) into today's itenary. And wow, that show was marvellous, not to mention the gorgeous Tibetan female dancers! It was definitely the highlight of the day.
We also discovered a guy dancer that has this uncanny close resemblance to Gurmit Singh! We were pulled in to dance along with the dancers and yup, we got to taste their famous 青稞酿 and eat their ??ょ?????

It has been my dream to travel to the much-heard famous Jiu Zhai Gou Huanglong 九寨沟黄龙 in Szechuan, as what it claims, the fairy-tale wonderland 0) Both Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong are classified under the World's Heritage List too. As what all my colleagues said, if you have visited Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong, you have deemed to visit all the greeneries of China. No much beauty can surpassed that of Jiuzaigou and Huanglong!
Therefore, together with Xiaohui and Dongting, we decided to embark on a 8-days deluxe tour with China ranked No-1 travel agency Chun Qiu 春秋旅行社 immediately straight after our IA.
It was a fight against time as we hurried to Hongqiao airport for the domestic flight to Mianyang 绵阳 at 1645hrs, afterall most of us woke up late from the party we had the night before at M-box with colleagues and friends.
We had a final lunch before each of us heads our separate holiday plans. Well, here marks the start of our first day trip of our Fairytale wonderland trip~

'Final' Chionging Session. Trip to QianDaoHu 千岛&#
|
|
'Final' Chionging Session at Bourbon Street
It was suppose to be our last chionging session with the rest of the usual Shanghainese 'drink team' and with the other gang of us,the Singaporean interns over at PUxi side. Apparently, this so called 'last-chionging' session wasn't the last for the alcoholic-craved homosapiens, but it was definitely the last for me.
Bourbon Street 波钵街 located along Hengshan (衡山路) , which is one of the usual drinking nests of ours (or theirs ), is also one of the favourite pub i've been to. Nice ambi, great crowd and ultimate live-band music! There's this favourite song that the DJ played regularly, which I always can't recall the name, thanks to my disastrous short-term memory. What'z the song again ? (No lyrics and keep having the same word) and itz always raise the ambi of the dancing crowd !?!
It was a night of yes, the super downfall of the Singaporeans against the Shanghaineses (well, it was well expected, but the swift downfall was embarrassing though) haha. Erhm, thanks goodness my colleagues Maggie and Sandy went back earlier if not.. the night would end up with more drunkards

'Unforgettable start of Our Qian Dao Hu 千岛湖 and Tonglu Trip 桐庐
Trip Resources Recall: QianDao
As my saying goes 'Too many drunkards spoilt the trip broth' We had the whole tour bus waiting for us for half an hr (from 0630 to 0700) cos most of us overslept and unbelievably woke up at 0620 when we were scheduled to arrived at the bus pickup point at Shanghai Stadium at 0630. Well, we told ourselves, we paid for the tour man..
And that marks the start of our first day trip at Qian Dao Hu...which eventually we felt wasn't that marvellous as what we had imagined It was a loong bus journey (almost 4 hrs++) where the bus transversed between the streets and bumpy roads to Qian Dao Hu
